Is it time to Repower?

Is It Time to Repower Your Boat?

Here’s Why It Might Be the Best Upgrade You Make

If you love your boat but feel like it’s starting to lose its edge, repowering may be the smartest move you can make this season. Instead of trading in a boat you already know and trust, upgrading to a new outboard motor can completely transform your time on the water—often at a fraction of the cost of buying new.
What is Repowering?
Repowering simply means replacing your existing outboard motor with a newer, more advanced model. Today’s engines are built with better fuel efficiency, smoother performance, and improved reliability compared to motors from even just 10–15 years ago.
Signs It Might Be Time to Repower
• Your motor is becoming unreliable or hard to start
• You’re noticing decreased performance or fuel efficiency
• Repair costs are starting to add up
• You want quieter, smoother operation
• You’re ready for updated technology and features
Benefits of Repowering
One of the biggest advantages is performance. A new motor can give your boat quicker hole shots, better top-end speed, and more responsive handling. You’ll also benefit from improved fuel economy, which means more time on the water and less money at the pump.
Modern outboards are also significantly quieter and cleaner, making for a more enjoyable ride whether you’re fishing, cruising, or pulling the kids on a tube. Plus, many new engines come with extended warranties, giving you peace of mind for years to come.
Don’t Forget Compatibility
Not every motor fits every boat the same way. Weight, horsepower ratings, and rigging all play a role in choosing the right setup. That’s why it’s important to work with a trusted marine technician to ensure your new motor is properly matched and installed.
Make Your Boat Feel New Again
Repowering breathes new life into your current rig. You keep the boat you love, upgrade the performance, and often increase resale value—all without the cost of buying new.
If your boat isn’t running like it used to, it might not be time to replace it—it might just be time to repower.

Spring Bite is On in Central Texas

Warmer temps are firing up the bite across Central Texas. Fish are moving shallow, feeding aggressively, and setting up for the spawn—now’s the time to get on the water.
Lake Waco
Bass are shallow and bedding. White bass are staging in creeks.
Tip: Soft plastics around cover; early topwater bite is starting.
Lake Whitney
Stripers and whites are active on points and drop-offs.
Tip: Troll or jig 15–30 ft; follow bait on electronics.
Brazos River
Mixed bag—catfish, bass, sand bass in current.
Tip: Fish eddies and structure; cut bait or moving baits work best.
Lake Belton
Clear water, smallmouth and largemouth turning on.
Tip: Finesse baits on rocky points and ledges.
Lake Limestone
Crappie are moving shallow; bass close behind.
Tip: Minnows or jigs in 6–12 ft near brush.
Navarro Mills Lake
Good white bass and crappie action.
Tip: Bright jigs on shallow flats near channels.
Stillhouse Hollow Lake
Clear and technical, but quality fish.
Tip: Slow down—natural plastics and jerkbaits on steep banks.
Spring fishing is here—don’t miss it. Make sure your boat is water-ready so you can focus on the bite, not the breakdown.

Cruise, Cast, and Relax:

Why a Fishing Pontoon Is the Perfect Spring Upgrade

Cruise, Cast and Relax
As the weather warms up across Texas, it’s time to get back on the water—and there’s no better way to do it than on a fishing pontoon boat. Designed to blend comfort with serious fishability, these boats are quickly becoming a favorite for families and anglers alike.
A fishing pontoon gives you the best of both worlds. Up front, you’ve got stable casting decks, swivel fishing chairs, livewells, and rod storage—everything you need to target crappie, bass, or catfish. In the rear, it’s all about relaxing, with plush seating, shade from a bimini top, and plenty of room for friends and family to enjoy the ride.
One of the biggest advantages is stability. Whether you’re anchored over brush piles on the lake or drifting along the river, a pontoon offers a smooth, steady platform that makes fishing easier and more comfortable—especially for kids or first-time anglers.
Spring is prime time for crappie and white bass, and a fishing pontoon lets you move effortlessly from spot to spot while keeping everyone comfortable. When the bite slows down, you’re already set up to cruise, relax, or even tie up and swim.
If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your time on the water, a fishing pontoon might be the most versatile investment you can make. It’s not just a fishing boat—it’s a floating family hub built for making memories all season long.
